Vol. 95 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Post-War Education.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state what committees have been set up in relation in any way to his Department for the purpose of making recommendations or helping to meet post-emergency conditions; the date the committees were set up; the names and qualifications of their members, and the dates and matters on which any reports or recommendations have been received; and whether and when it is intended to publish these reports or recommendations; and if it is not intended to publish them, the reason for not doing so.

As occasion required Departmental Committees have been set up from time to time to examine particular aspects of the work of my Department but no special committees have been set up for the purpose of making recommendations regarding post-emergency conditions. These conditions are receiving the attention of officers of my Department, who are fully conversant with all probable needs and developments in the post-war period and are competent to make such recommendations as may be necessary, after consultation with the other Departments and bodies concerned.
