Vol. 95 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Turf Supplies.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the number of contractors selected for supplying turf to the Army authorities at the Curragh Camp for year ending March 31st, 1945, the total tonnage to be supplied for the year mentioned and the cost per ton paid or to be paid for turf delivered at the camp.

As a result of competitive tendering, the contract for the turf requirements of the Curragh Training Camp for the year ending 31st March, 1945, was placed with one contractor. Since the 1st April last, deliveries have been made by another contractor in fulfilment of contracts placed with him in 1943.

The quantity required to be purchased during the year ending 31st March, 1945 was 6,000 tons.

It is not the practice to disclose prices paid for goods supplied.
