Vol. 95 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Eggsports, Ltd.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (a) the amount paid in salaries, fees and expenses to the directors of Eggsports, Ltd. during the past 12 months; (b) the amount paid in salaries, wages, etc., to the secretary and staff of Eggsports, Ltd.; and (c) the source of the fund from which these sums are paid.

The directors of Eggsports, Ltd. receive no remuneration for their services as directors but are refunded travelling and subsistence expenses incurred on the business of the company in attending board meetings, etc. I do not appoint the directors and staff nor fix their rates of remuneration. These matters pertain to the functions of the board. With regard to (c), the fund from which administrative expenses of the company are defrayed is made up of deductions from the amounts received by the company for exports of eggs, poultry and rabbits. Such deductions may not be at greater rates than those approved by me.
