Vol. 96 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gough Monument.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the Board of Works has lodged a claim for £1,700 compensation with the Dublin Corporation for the damage done to the Gough Monument in the Phoenix Park, Dublin; and if he will request the commissioners to withdraw their claim and instead to have the monument completely removed.

I am aware that the Commissioners of Public Works have lodged a claim for compensation with the Dublin Corporation for the damage done to the Gough Monument in the Phoenix Park. I do not propose to request the commissioners to withdraw the claim.
