Sanction was issued on the 13th instant to the rate of bonus proposed for gangers. It was not clear from the proposal originally submitted by the local authority whether the amount of bonus was in addition to the existing rate of bonus which had previously been approved or in substitution therefor. The sanction previously issued to the payment of emergency bonus to gangers covered the period up to March, 1945.
