Vol. 96 No. 24

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Dublin Sanatorium.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if, in view of the fact that the Grangegorman Mental Hospital Board have sanctioned the transfer of the lands and premises at Santry Court, County Dublin, under the Tuberculosis (Establishment of Sanatoria) Act, 1945, to establish a sanatorium containing 1,000 beds for Dublin County and City, he will negotiate for the evacuation of the premises to enable reconstruction work on the new sanatorium to begin as soon as possible.

I have no reason to assume that the occupation of Santry Court by the Defence Forces will in any way delay the provision of the proposed sanatorium.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary give a guarantee that his Department will enter into negotiations with the Department of Defence for the early evacuation of this place by the troops?

The Deputy need not worry on that score.
