Vol. 97 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Portlaoighise Prisoner's Health.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state if there is a prisoner at Portlaoighise Prison named Liam Rice; and, if so, if he is in good health; and, if not, what special medical attention is being given to him; and when the last medical report was made to him as to Mr. Rice's state of health.

Liam Rice, a prisoner in Portlaoighise Prison, is in good health. The last report received from the prison medical officer is dated 25th instant.

Could the Minister say what the report was? Did the report say he was in good health or that he had been ailing for some time past?

Mr. Boland

It was as I have said. He is in good health.

Did the report say he had been ailing for some time past?

Mr. Boland

I have answered the Deputy and I do not propose to add anything to what I have said. The man is in good health.
