Vol. 97 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Collinstown Airport Contract.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the name of the contractor whose tender has been accepted for the £400,000 contract at Collinstown Airport; and the regulations included in the contract governing the recruitment of labour.

No tender has yet been accepted. The consideration of the tenders received is not yet complete. The specification for the contract provides that "the contractor shall employ to the fullest practicable extent Irish labour and Irish staff", and incorporates the usual fair wages clauses.

As it is approximately six weeks since the last date for the submission of tenders, is the Minister now in a position to state when a definite decision will be arrived at as regards the tender, and when the work will start?
