Vol. 98 No. 5

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business as on the Order Paper: Items Nos 3, 4, 1, 5, 2, 6, 7—No. 7 being Motion No. 5 on the list of Private Deputies' motions.

What has happened to Motion No. 4?

Motion No. 4 has been postponed for reasons which have been explained to the Deputy concerned. It will, of course, not lose its place, as the Deputy is not responsible for its postponement.

Is the House meeting next week?

Why not?

Look up the calendar and see.

There is a holiday of obligation next week.

Let us get the reason on record, at any rate.

In view of the fact that the House is not meeting next week and that we will be adjourning to-morrow for a fortnight, would it not be possible for the Minister for Industry and Commerce to make his statement regarding what is happening at cattle fairs owing to Córas Iompair Éireann at present?

The matter cannot be raised without notice, I presume.

Raise it at the Árd Fheis next week.

I would ask the Minister to consider making a statement in connection with the matter. The conditions are terrible.

I suppose it would not be possible to raise it on the adjournment to-night or to-morrow night?

Due notice being given.

Would the Minister consider it?

I will proceed in accordance with the Standing Orders of the Dáil, and deal with any matters raised; and let Deputies do likewise.
