Vol. 98 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rearrangement of Mayo Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state if the Land Commission will now proceed with the rearrangement of the O'Dowd Estate and other lands in their hands in the Louisburgh, County Mayo, area.

The estate of Patrick O'Dowd, Record No. S.4501, comprising 104 tenanted holdings, vested in the Land Commission under Section 9 of the Land Act, 1931. As a necessary preliminary to a rearrangement scheme for the estate, preparations are being made for a survey of the holdings. It is not possible at present to state when rearrangement schemes for this estate and other lands in the Louisburgh area are likely to be put in hands.

I did not quite catch the Minister's reply. Did I understand him to say that a rearrangement is being contemplated?

A survey of the lands.

Can the Minister say when this estate will be rearranged?

I cannot.
