Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Nutritional Survey Investigators.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state what qualifications or experience, before receiving the special training in the work, will be required of the investigators to be appointed to carry out the nutritional survey; how many such investigators are to be selected or appointed; when and by what manner such appointments are to be made; the period of such employment and the remuneration to be paid.

Candidates for training will be expected to hold qualifications in social science, domestic science or dietetics or have other suitable experience. Applicants will be required to attend before an interview board. The number to be appointed is not likely to exceed ten. Remuneration will be at the rate of £3 10s. 0d. per week during training, and at the rate of £200 per annum while engaged on investigation work. Travelling and subsistence allowances will be payable. The period of employment is likely to extend to 12 months.
