asked the Minister for Lands if he will arrange for an early inspection by the Land Commission of the lands on the Trench Estate, Glenmalyre, Ballybrittas, Leix, in view of the general demand for land in the area by deserving applicants.

Owing to the restrictions imposed by emergency conditions the Land Commission are not in a position to take any action in regard to the acquisition of the Trench Estate, Ballybrittas.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether he has received representations from local residents calling on the Land Commission to acquire, for division, the lands on the Langford Estate, Roskeen, Geashill, Leix, where many small holders, old I.R.A. men and ex-Army men, are anxious to secure portions of this land; and if he will request the Land Commission to investigate the matter at an early date.

The Land Commission have received representations urging the acquisition and division of lands on the Langford Estate, Roskeen, Geashill, but owing to the restrictions arising out of emergency conditions they are not at present in a position to take any action in the matter.
