I move:—
That for the purposes of any Act of the present session to make better provision for the development, in the national interest, of the production, distribution and supply of turf in the State, and for this purpose to establish a board to be called Bord na Móna, to define its powers and duties, to dissolve the Turf Development Board, Limited, and to transfer its property and liabilities to Bord na Móna, and to provide for certain other matters connected with the matters aforesaid, it is expedient to authorise:—
(a) the advance to Bord na Móna out of the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof of sums, not exceeding in the aggregate £3,750,000;
(b) the charge upon and payment out of the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof of the principal of and interest on any securities issued for the purpose of borrowing under such Act;
(c) the payment out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas of grants, not exceeding in the aggregate £120,000;
(d) the release of Bord na Móna, for a period of not less than five years from the date of its establishment, from liability for interest in respect of advances to it from the Central Fund;
(e) the release of Bord na Móna in certain circumstances, and to an extent not exceeding £50,000, from the debt owed by the Turf Development Board, Limited, to the Minister for Finance immediately before the establishment date; and
(f) the payment out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas of such expenses as may be incurred by the Minister for Industry and Commerce in the administration of such Act.
