Vol. 100 No. 18

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take the business in the following order:— Nos. 2, 3 and 4 (Votes 61 and 54).

On the order of business, I would like to inquire if the Tánaiste is now in a position to say whether it is proposed to afford time to discuss a motion standing in my name on the Private Deputies' Order Paper requesting the House to set up a committee to inquire into evidence tendered at a recent criminal trial affecting a Deputy of this House.

I expect that it will be possible to give time for Private Deputies' business next week.

Is it intended to give time next week to the motion I have referred to?

It will arise in Private Deputies' time.

Will time be made available for the motion to which I refer on any day which the Tánaiste, or you, Sir, are in a position to name? I have been waiting to discuss this motion now for nine months.

The Minister has stated that time will be afforded next week and the motion is the first business in Private Deputies' time.

Am I to take it then, Sir, that Private Deputies' time will be afforded next week?

I understand it will be possible next week.

Do I understand from you, Sir, that the motion will be called?

It is the first business in Private Deputies' time.

Thank you.
