Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Capital of Irish Assurance Company.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state, in respect of the Irish Assurance Company (1) the total amount of its capital authorised and the amount paid up; (2) the total amount of its capital held by the Minister for Finance and by any other State authority; and (3) the amount received into the Exchequer, in each of the financial years ended 31st March, 1945 and 1946, arising out of the State's holdings in the company.

The particulars requested are: (1) the authorised and issued share capital is 200,000 ordinary shares of £1 each, on which 10/- per share is paid up; (2) none of the share capital is held by the Minister for Finance; it is held entirely by The Industrial and Life Assurance Amalgamation Company, Ltd., in which the Minister for Finance has a shareholding; (3) nil.
