Vol. 101 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Income-Tax Yield (Schedule E).

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the amount of income-tax collected, on assessments made under Schedule E of the Income Tax Act, 1918, in respect of each year since 1937-38.

It is not possible to state the yield of income-tax under any one Schedule since, under the existing system of differentiation and graduation of the income-tax, the allowances, deductions and reliefs are related not to the various sources of income charged under each Schedule, but to the total income of the taxpayer.
