Vol. 102 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Migration of County Mayo Tenants.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that there are ten tenants living in the townland of Knappagh, Westport, County Mayo, the valuations of whose holdings range from 7/6 to £4 15s.; and if he will take immediate steps to migrate as many of these tenants as would be necessary to enable him to allocate their holdings among the remaining tenants so that all the remaining tenants would have holdings with a valuation of £10.

The question appears to relate to the townland of Knappagh More which is included on the former estate of Lord Sligo. The Land Commission are fully aware of the congestion in this townland and will take such steps as are possible for its relief, by migration or otherwise, as circumstances permit.

Will the Minister say how soon?

I cannot.
