Vol. 102 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Postman's Appointment.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state the reasons why Michael Hayes, Fair Field Terrace, Clonakilty, County Cork, who has been acting as substitute for postmen in Clonakilty for some years, was not appointed for holiday duty this year.

The service given by Mr. Hayes as substitute postman gave no claim to continued employment. The candidate selected had practically four years' service in the Army and this was taken into account in making the appointment.
