Written Answers. - National Health Insurance Fund.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state: (a) the contribution income of the National Health Insurance Fund for the year ended 31st December, 1945; (b) the amount of the income derived from payments in respect of members of the Defence Forces; (c) the estimated average weekly number of persons employed in civilian employment as derived from the contribution income; and (d) the average weekly number of persons, as derived from that part of the income received in respect of members of the Defence Forces.

(a) The contribution income of the National Health Insurance Fund for the year ended 31st December, 1945, was £736,000. (b) The amount of the income derived from payments in respect of members of the Defence Forces was £30,100. (c) The estimated average weekly number of persons employed in civilian employment as derived from the contribution income was 416,900. (d) The average weekly number of persons as derived from that part of the income received in respect of members of the Defence Forces was 30,900.
