Vol. 103 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Cottages.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether a decision has yet been reached on the reconstruction or reconditioning of cottages at Dublin Street, College Street and Parochial Avenue, Baldoyle, County Dublin; if so, if he will state the nature of such decision; and further, if he will expedite the arrangements for the connection of these cottages with the existing water supply and sewerage system.

I informed the Deputy on the 13th February last that the Commissioner for Dublin County Council had arranged for the carrying out of a detailed examination of the cottages referred to. This survey has been completed and plans for the alteration and reconstruction of the cottages have been prepared. The plans are at present the subject of discussion between the commissioner and the Dublin Corporation. The action to be taken in regard to the cottages will depend on the outcome of the negotiations.

When does the Minister expect the negotiations to conclude?

I could not say. As soon as agreement is reached.
