Vol. 103 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Supplies for Guest-Houses.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is now prepared to grant permits for the purchase of supplies of tea, sugar and butter to proprietors of registered guest-houses, similar to those allowances granted to recently established hotels.

Guest-houses as such are regarded, for the purpose of the rationing regulations, as dwelling places and the proprietors are expected to obtain rationed commodities in exchange for coupons taken from the ration books and food ration, cards of residents in the same manner as other householders. I regret that the supply position would not permit the grant of additional allowances of tea, sugar and butter to proprietors of guest-houses.
