Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Galway Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the 60 acres of untenanted lands at Kinreask, Ballymacward, Woodlawn, Ballinasloe (Lambert Estate), owned by John Parker, Churchview, Ballymacward, and at present let to Messrs. Costello and Ruane, Garbally.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of Mr. Parker's lands at Kinreask, Ballymacward, but inquiries will be made in the matter.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the 250 acres of land at Ganamuckla, Gurteen, Woodlawn, Ballinasloe (Daly Estate), at present let to James Raftery, Woodlawn; and if so, when.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of the lands of Ganamuckla, held by the representatives of the late Patrick Raftery, but a note has been made of the case.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the lands of Patrick Griffin, Killaclogher, Monivea (O'Kelly estate), and lands at Crearon, Gurteen, Woodlawn, Ballinasloe, have been sold to Thomas Burke, Colmanstown, Ballinasloe; and if so, whether, in view of the large number of uneconomic holders in that area, he will direct the Land Commission to acquire these lands.

The Land Commission are aware that part of the Lands of Crearon, formerly held by Patrick Griffin, has been sold to Thomas Burke, but there are no proceedings in hands for the acquisition of these lands.

Will the Minister consider sending down an inspector to investigate?

I will make inquiries into what the conditions are.
