Vol. 103 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Acquisition in County Dublin.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is proposed to withdraw the restrictions on the acquisition of land by his Department in County Dublin.

I am not at present in a position to indicate when the Land Commission will be able to resume generally their work on the acquisition of land outside the congested districts. Several considerations affect the matter, for example: (1) the very large amount of work to be done to complete the distribution and vesting of land already acquired, (2) the shortage of inspectorial staff and of building materials and (3) the prevailing high price of land.
