Vol. 103 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo Turbary.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that over 100 tenants in the vicinity of Cappagh, Taugheen, County Mayo, are in need of turbary; and if he will state if any steps have been taken to acquire the large tract of turbary, owned by the late Michael Browne, Cappagh House, Taugheen, as well as the adjoining bog at Pooldrine, for the relief of these tenants.

The Land Commission are exploring the possibility of acquiring and developing suitable bog in this district, to meet the needs of tenants requiring turbary and the Deputy's representations regarding the bog at Pooldrine and the bog formerly owned by the late Mr. Browne will be kept in mind.
