Vol. 104 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Old Age Pensions.

Mr. Corish

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that a number of old persons residing in this country and entitled to receive British old age pensions have been refused the additions to their pensions recently provided under British legislation on the grounds that they were not residing in Great Britain on a date arbitrarily chosen by the British authorities; and whether he will make representations to the British Government on behalf of the persons concerned.

I understand that the position is as stated by the Deputy. However, neither the information at my disposal nor the circumstances of the case seem sufficient to justify my making representations to the British Government on the subject, as suggested.
