Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Pensions.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the number of applications received, from former members of the Defence Forces, for pensions on grounds of disablement arising from Army service; the number of such applications granted to date, the number rejected, and the number still under consideration.

The number of applications received from former members of the Defence Forces for pensions on grounds of disablement due to Army service during the emergency period is 2,320. To date 686 awards have been granted while claims have been rejected in 1,360 cases. The number of applications still under consideration is 274.
