Vol. 104 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Holding.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the Land Commission have taken possession recently of a holding, comprising a house, out-offices, and 26 acres of land on the McCarthy estate, Lissenhall, Swords; and if he is prepared to allocate this holding to a local deserving applicant before the spring.

Clear possession of the parcel of land in question has yet to be obtained by the Land Commission and it is not possible to state when the lands will be reallocated.

I do not quite understand what the Parliamentary Secretary means. The house is vacant and all you have to do is to take it. The people are gone out of it. Will the 26 acres be let or allocated in order to allow wheat to be grown?

The fact of the house being vacant does not mean that legal possession has been given.

It would be too bad to allow the land to remain idle during the next 12 months.
