Vol. 104 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Bread.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is now in a position to state whether the price of bread will be increased; and also, if supplies of wheat and flour will warrant a reduction in the present price of bread.

As was announced some days ago, the Government has decided that the increased cost of bread production in Dublin, resulting from wage increases to Dublin bakery workers, will for the present be offset by increased subsidy. There is no prospect of a reduction in price.
