Vol. 104 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Castlebar Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the present position regarding the provision of an improved water supply at Castlebar for which work tenders, returnable on 27th December, 1946, have been invited; and if he will take all possible steps to have the work on this scheme commenced forthwith, in view of the serious plight of the inhabitants of this large town arising from the present inadequate water supply.

Only one tender, which was defective in a certain respect, was received and it was decided to re-advertise the contract.

The Urban council have been requested to expedite the matter as much as possible.
