Vol. 104 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of Embankment.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the protecting wall on the holding of Mrs. Walsh, Lohireannan, Tralee (R.O. No. 224184), has been washed away by the sea, thus rendering several acres of her holding useless, because of tide erosion and flooding, which also affects adjacent holdings; if he will consider having a survey of the area made with a view to the erection of a protecting embankment similar to one erected further back on the beach some years ago.

The Land Commission have already fully examined this matter and it is not one in which they can be of assistance in the manner suggested by the Deputy. They have no liability for the maintenance of protective works in this case.
