Vol. 105 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rearrangement of Castlebar Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will now indicate the action taken by the Land Commission towards the final rearrangement and settlement of the Peyton estate, near Castlebar, County Mayo.

Much work on migrations and otherwise has been done to prepare the way for rearrangement of the numerous holdings on the Peyton estate. Progress is in abeyance at present by reason of legal difficulties in resumption proceedings. The improvement of rundale holdings is a tedious process involving many complexities but the work remaining to be performed in respect of the Peyton estate and other congested estates will be attended to according as circumstances permit.
