Vol. 105 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Barrow Drainage Board Employees.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that employees of the Barrow Drainage Board are still paid the low wage of 44/- a week; and if he will take steps to have these wages substantially increased.

The rate of wages of the employees of the Barrow Drainage Board is a matter for the local authority in the first instance. The wages of the employees of the board were revised as from September last and I have not received further proposals for sanction.
