Written Answers. - Central Bank Holdings.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state He total value of (i) British Government securities, and (ii) stating balances, on current or deposit account at the London Agency or at any bank in Great Britain or Northern Ireland, held by the Central Bank (a) as assets of the Legal Tender Note Fund, and (b) otherwise, on the 31st March, 1947.

The value of the British Government securities and the sterling balances held by the Central Bank as assets of the Legal Tender Note Fund is published weekly in Iris Oifigiúil. The audited accounts of the Central Bank for the year ended 31st March last are not yet available. These accounts when published will provide the information required by the Deputy regarding the assets of the Legal Tender Note Fund at the 31st March, 1947, and will also contain the usual particulars regarding the assets of the general fund at that date.
