Written Answers. - I.R.A. Pensions (County Monaghan).

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state (i) how many persons resident in County Monaghan are in receipt of I.R.A. pensions; (ii) how many I.R.A. pensions have been granted, in County Monaghan, since the 1st January, 1942; and (iii) whether any I.R.A. pensions, granted to residents in County Monaghan, have been increased since the 1st January, 1946, and if so, what are the particulars of these increases.

One hundred and eighty-nine residents In County Monaghan are in receipt of Pensions under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924 and 1934.

Forty-one pensions have been granted in County Monaghan since the 1st January, 1942.

Two military service pensions granted to residents in County Monaghan have been increased since 1st January, 1946. In one case a Grade C pension was Increased from £27 10s. 0d. per annum to £34 7s. 6d. and in the other, a Grade E pension, from £6. 13s. 4d. per annum to £8 6s. 8d.
