asked the Minister for Defence if he will state, in respect of No. 1 and No. 2 Army Bands, for each of the years 1934 to 1946, inclusive: (a) the number of functions, other than Army functions, attended; (b) the name and venue of each such function; and (c) whether, in each case, the promoters of the function paid for the services of the band.

As the compilation of the statistics required would entail the detailed scrutiny of a very considerable number of documents and would throw an unreasonably heavy amount of work on the already fully-occupied staffs, I regret that it is not possible to furnish the particulars mentioned by the Deputy.
