Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Health Embarkation Scheme.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of people in each year since 1939, who have been medically examined and certified under the health embarkation scheme, established by the former Department of Local Government and Public Health; the number of officers employed on such scheme, indicating the official rank of those so employed; and the estimated cost of such scheme.

As the reply contains a number of tables I am, with your permission, a Chinn Chomhairle, circulating it with the Official Report.

The information sought by the Deputy is as follows:—

1. The Health Embarkation Scheme was introduced on the 1st November, 1943, as from which date the number examined and certified thereunder in each year is as follows:
