asked the Minister for Finance if he will state, for each year since 1938, the value of the credit movement, under each of the heads: (a) emigrants' remittances and legacies from the United Kingdom; (b) tourist expenditure; and (c) income from investments abroad and extern profits, etc.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Value of Credit Movement.
For particulars of (a) emigrants' remittances and legacies from the United Kingdom and (c) income from investments abroad and extern profits, etc., I would refer the Deputy to the annual statements of the Balance of International Payments, published in the Irish Trade Journal and Statistical Bulletin. With regard to (b) tourist development, the data available at present are not sufficient on which to base a reliable estimate.
