Vol. 108 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pensions for Unestablished Civil Servants.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider the introduction of legislation to provide pension rights for unestablished Government employees, many of whom have been in the employment of the State for many years.

The answer is in the negative. As already indicated on a number of occasions consideration of the question of granting establishment to unestablished civil servants must await the completion of the actuarial investigation into Civil Service superannuation. In this connection I would refer the Deputy to the reply given by me on the 6th May, 1947, to a question on this subject. The position then indicated remains unchanged.
