Vol. 108 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - C.I.E. Bus Station.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the date on which he issued a building licence to Córas Iompair Éireann to proceed with the work of erecting a bus station in Dublin; and also, on what date the Corporation of Dublin certified that the plans for the carrying out of the work had been approved by them.

The bus terminus buildings in Dublin are the subject of two licences issued under the Control of Building Order. The first was dated 28th August, 1946, and was in respect of foundations and site works. The second licence authorised the erection of the shell of the building and was dated May 13th, 1947.

I am not aware when the Dublin Corporation approved of the plans for the building. A certificate was presented to my Department on the 7th May, 1947, that permission for the building operations had been secured from the planning authority and that the plans satisfied requirements for structural stability.
