Vol. 110 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Chapelizod Residents' Compensation.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will expedite the payment of compensation to residents of the Lower Road, Chapelizod, whose gardens were damaged as a result of the recent sewerage scheme being laid through their gardens

Mr. Murphy

The payment to landowners of compensation for disturbance caused by the laying of sewers is a matter for the local authority. I have had inquiries made in regard to the subject of the Deputy's question and have been informed by the commissioner administering the affairs of the Dublin County Council that, having regard to the extent of the claims in regard to the Lucan sewerage scheme, he considered it advisable to submit the matter to a valuer, whose report has not yet been received.
