asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether the Government have ratified the conventions relating to employment service organisations and factory inspection adopted by the International Labour Conference in 1947; and, if so, whether it is his intention to introduce legislation at an early date for the purpose of implementing their provisions; or if the conventions have not been ratified, whether he will say when it is proposed to ratify these conventions.
Written Answers. - Employment Service Organisations and Factory Inspection.
Employment service organisation was the subject of a "first discussion" at the 30th session of the International Labour Conference held in Geneva in 1947. A convention has not as yet been adopted. The International Labour Convention relating to labour inspection adopted at that conference is at present under examination in my Department.
