Vol. 110 No. 7

Written Answers. - Provident and Friendly Societies.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that the law relating to industrial, provident and friendly societies is hopelessly antiquated and if he will arrange at an early date to introduce legislation to revise such law and bring it into line with modern conditions.

I propose to examine the position as to the law relating to industrial, provident and friendly societies in the light of the statements made by the Deputy. I do not think it would be possible to arrange for early introduction of any amending legislation which may be found to be desirable.
