Vol. 110 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Killorglin Housing Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that proposals for a housing scheme in Killorglin have been forwarded to his Department and that an inspector from his Department recommended a particular site for the purpose of such scheme and if, in view of these facts, he will take steps to ensure that building operations are commenced at the earliest possible date.

Mr. Murphy

I understand that the Kerry County Council intend to erect 52 labourers' cottages in Killorglin, but no proposals in connection with the scheme have yet been submitted to the Department. I am not aware that an inspector recommended a particular site for the purpose. The local authority is being urged to expedite preliminaries in connection with the acquisition of housing sites throughout the county.
