Vol. 110 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pay of Established Postmen.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider at an early date revising the scales of pay for established postmen with a view to granting these men a substantial increase on their present rates of pay.

In existing circumstances the scales of pay for established postmen must be maintained. These scales are fixed with reference to those of other post-office grades and to the general level of Civil Service remuneration, and the Deputy will appreciate the difficulty of dealing separately with the claims of any individual grade.
