Vol. 110 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Appointment of Postman.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state why, in connection with a recent appointment of an auxiliary postman at Abbeyfeale Post Office, an applicant with Volunteer, Army and L.D.F. service and a good knowledge of Irish was not appointed.

There was one candidate only with emergency Army service nominated by the local employment exchange, but as he resides about 4½ miles from Abbeyfeale he was not eligible for appointment.
