asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that the delay by his Department in having payments made to manure merchants in respect of wheat credit vouchers is causing serious hardship and inconvenience to these merchants and has prevented them in some cases from purchasing additional manures required by farmers in their areas; and, if so, whether he will arrange to have payment made as soon as possible.

Almost two-thirds of the claims from merchants so far received have been paid. It is hoped to issue payment against the remainder of the claims on hand by the end of the present month.
