Vol. 110 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Trade Union Act, 1941.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if it is proposed to repeal the Trade Union Act, 1941, in view of the fact that many of the main provisions of the Act have been declared unconstitutional.

I understand that early in 1947 the Trade Union Congresses were consulted by my predecessor on the question of the legislative provisions which should replace the existing law, and they were to submit their views in writing. Neither Congress appears to have done so, and I would be glad to have their views before coming to any conclusion on this subject.
