Vol. 110 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Soap Supplies.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the latest position in regard to supplies of soap and what are the prospects of an increased ration being made available; and, further, if he will give special consideration to the desirability of making an increased ration available to the mothers of very young infants.

There has been no improvement in the supply of raw materials for soap manufacture. Unless and until the supply position improves substantially it will not be possible to increase the soap ration either generally or in respect of particular categories of consumers.
