Vol. 110 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Balbriggan Sewerage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will expedite the sanction of the Balbriggan outflow sewerage scheme as submitted to his Department.

Mr. Murphy

The local authority were informed on the 22nd March last that the plans submitted were generally in order and that subject to the inclusion of certain minor amendments full contract documents could be prepared. On 29th ultimo a report was received from the engineer in regard to the amendments. The local authority were again informed on the 11th instant that full contract documents for this scheme may be prepared.

This matter also has been going on for a very long time. Again, I would ask the Minister if he would see that it is expedited. I have been asking about it for quite a long time.

Mr. Murphy

As I have explained to the Deputy, the matter is now one entirely for the local authority. Again, I want to assure him that there will be no delay so far as I am concerned in dealing with it.
