Vol. 110 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Breach of Sea Wall.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that, as a result of the breaching of the sea wall beside the Abbey and burial ground at Ballinskelligs, County Kerry, a great number of graves and monuments have been swept away; and, if so, whether he will take steps to ensure that the breaches are repaired as soon as possible so that the burial ground may be protected from further inroads by the sea.

Mr. Murphy

Proposals for the protection of Ballinskelligs Abbey and the adjoining burial ground have been under consideration by the local authority and the Office of Public Works. I shall have the authorities concerned approached with a view to expediting the scheme of repairs.
